Path to Northwestern Mutual and Continued Growth
Ryan Stille was introduced to Northwestern Mutual’s college internship program in 1995. As he was finishing his senior year at Virginia Tech, Ryan was looking to identify a strong brand with which he could affiliate while helping others in the process. Northwesten’s offerings and core strength were in parallel with Ryan’s long term goals and objectives in finding a career that held no limits or ceilings. Upon graduating college and the internship program in 1996, Ryan began building a client base in Northern Virginia. Ryan was off to a fast start as he helped clients address their risk management needs. He often had tough, courageous conversations with families and businesses to help provide them with the options needed for their protection.
As he continued to grow his business, Ryan qualified for Million Dollar Round Table by invitation and has done so for the past nine years. Along the way, Ryan has been consistently recognized year after year as a top producer in the The Washington Group. In October of 2006, Ryan was one of eighteen selected representatives (out of 8,000) to become the Life Insurance Specialist for the Washington DC offices of Northwestern Mutual. Over the next four years, Ryan’s role grew to encompass the education of colleagues and outside advisors on the use of life insurance and its applications in personal, business, and estate needs. In September of 2010, Ryan was again selected to join an elite group of representatives in attending Northwestern Mutual’s first Masters Academy held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Fifty representatives were selected with diverse backgrounds to share their personal goals and visions on how to stay relevant and on top of changes for their clients’ needs in the financial and insurance climate that is ever changing.
Fast forward to today, and you will see that Ryan and his network of specialists offer all levels of service to address the financial needs of clients and businesses local in the Washington metro area and throughout the nation. Ryan leans on an expert team with deep knowledge in the group medical benefits arena to help employers attract and keep employees. Ryan’s team helps employees integrate these benefits into a needs analysis that provides the employees clarity on their “big picture” needs. Ryan works with owners, entrepreneurs, and key management to recruit and retain top talent. In addition, succession and estate ideas are evaluated to preserve what has already been built by clients. Ryan thrives in helping families, employers, and employees build and sustain wealth for the next 100 years with this integrative, holistic approach.

Ryan Stille is active in the community and has been a featured speaker at the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Northern Virginia, NAIFA. Recently, Northwestern Mutual established a life insurance specialist program for its sales force of 6,000. Ryan is one of 18 national specialists who focus on educating other professionals about the value of life insurance and how it may be utilized in a financial needs analysis.
Ryan is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table. MDRT is the premier association for Financial Professionals both in the United States and abroad.
Ryan earned his Charter Life Underwriter designation (CLU®) from The American College.
The Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation has long been recognized as the fundamental and foremost educational credential for life insurance professionals. Since 1927, more than 94,000 individuals have earned their CLU, helping them build a successful life insurance practice by providing clients with knowledgeable and ethical advice. For Financial Representatives, field management, home office personnel, and others involved in providing life insurance products to the public, the CLU designation symbolizes continuing growth and commitment to professionalism.
